To hire a Filipino domestic worker in Malaysia (or any other country where Filipinos are employed), you will need to abide by the regulations of the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). This involves registering or renewing a DMW Standard Employment Contract at the Philippine Migrant Workers' Office - MWO (formerly known as the Philippine Overseas Labour Office -POLO) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for as long as you are hiring a FIlipino helper.
Your Filipino domestic helper will need a valid DMW employment contract to be allowed to return to Malaysia after holidays/ annual leave in the Philippines
Showing a valid Malaysian work permit is not sufficient for your domestic helper to prove that she is legally employed in Malaysia with you at the Philippine Airport Immigration. She will need to also show a valid DMW/ POEA Employment Contract and a valid Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC). Guide your helper to apply for her OEC after her DMW/ POEA Employment Contract is registered or renewed.
If it is your Filipino helper's first contract registration with you (going into employment years 1 & 2), you will need to engage the services of a licensed agency accredited by the DMW such as Pinkcollar's Contract Registration service to register your helper's DMW contract at the Migrant Workers' Office in KL.
If it is your Filipino helper's first contract renewal with you (going into employment years 3 & 4), you will need to engage the services of a licensed agency accredited by the DMW such as Pinkcollar's Contract Registration service to renew your helper's DMW contract at the Migrant Workers' Office in KL.
If it is your Filipino helper's second contract renewal with you (going into employment year 5 & 6 onwards), the employer and domestic helper can renew the DMW employment contract without requiring an employment agency.
To renew your Filipino domestic helper's DMW/ POEA employment contract yourself, the employer and helper must visit the Migrant Workers' Office in Kuala Lumpur together to submit the contract renewal documents and pay the contract renewal fee.
