Expatriate employers of foreign domestic workers (maids) are not required to contribute to SOCSO

We have received direct confirmation from Social Security Organisation (SOCSO), both via email and live chat, that Expatriate employers who hire foreign domestic workers are not required to register or contribute to SOCSO.
If you have received a letter from SOCSO instructing you to register your domestic helper, please disregard it, as this requirement applies only to Malaysian employers. This has been further confirmed by an official notice at the SOCSO office:

If You’ve Already Made a Payment
For Pinkcollar employers who have already made payment for SOCSO registration, please contact us directly with your proof of payment and bank details (bank name, account holder name, and account number), and we will assist with processing your refund promptly.
If you are working with another agency, we encourage you to contact them directly for further clarification on next steps.
Need Assistance?
We are here to help navigate this and other requirements with clarity and confidence. If you have further questions, feel free to reach out to us directly or contact the SOCSO Careline at 1-300-22-8000.
