Malaysia's Sales & Service Tax (SST) rate to increase from 6% to 8% starting 1 March 2024

Published on 26 Feb 2024, last updated on 28 Feb 2024

Dear valued customers,

We would like to inform you about an upcoming change in Malaysia’s Sales and Service Tax (SST) rate, as mandated by the government. Effective March 1, 2024, the SST rate in Malaysia will be increased from 6% to 8%. Consequently, all invoices and payments received on or after March 1, 2024, will be subject to the updated 8% rate.

What this means for you:

  • Impact on Services: As a recruitment agency providing worker sourcing and hiring services, Pinkcollar will adjust our service tax rate from 6% to 8% to comply with this new mandate. Kindly be assured that Pinkcollar gains no benefit from this tax increase. Our priority is to support you through this adjustment, ensuring minimal disruption to our service delivery to you.
  • Billing Adjustments: The applicable service tax rate will be determined based on the dates invoices are issued and payments are received. To navigate this transition smoothly, any early invoice settlements or advance payments to Pinkcollar before the March 1 deadline will benefit from the current 6% rate.

Your continued support means a lot to us at Pinkcollar. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact our finance team at finance@hirepinkcollar.com. Our team will be happy to assist you.

Warm regards, The Pinkcollar Team
